ARLINGTON -- Country music lovers are officially heading to North Texas next spring.

Tickets for the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards and two-day 50th anniversary event sold out in just 18 minutes on Tuesday.

The music awards will be held live and broadcast from AT&T Stadium on Sunday, April 19, 2015. A two-day music celebration, the ACM Party for a Cause, will be held April 17-18, 2015 at Globe Life Park.

Officials say 70,000 tickets were sold in less than 20 minutes Tuesday for the largest event in the Academy's history.

“We want to thank the fans for their continued support. This sale was unprecedented and far exceeded our expectations,” Bob Romeo, CEO of the Academy, said. “We’re working hard to plan more events to accommodate as many fans as we can. Country music is alive and well in North Texas!”

Organizers say additional seats could become available closer to the awards show and party. Sign up here to be the first to know when tickets are on sale.
