Moviegoers know the classic work of Horton Foote from Texas-made movies like "Tender Mercies" and "The Trip to Bountiful."
Now a short film by him, based on a one-act play, screens Thursday at the USA Film Festival in Dallas. "One Armed Man" tells the story of a young man who lost an arm in a cotton gin and repeatedly returns to confront his former boss.
Charles Haid plays the boss in the film. He visited News 8 to chat about it.
The film screens at Angelika Dallas at 7 p.m. Other shorts will also be shown.
