HOUSTON — Fans of Vicente Fernandez know he’ll be performing at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Sunday, but before that he stopped at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, according to his publicist.
The King of Ranchera music has confirmed that a growth in his liver was biopsied last Friday. It was expected to be a minor procedure, but if surgery is warranted, Fernandez will check into the hospital on Monday.
His public relations agency confirmed that there are no plans to cancel the farewell concert tour. Fernandez is 72 years old, and has said that he wants to retire while he still has a voice.
