Samantha Wiemuth has tears in her eyes for her baby boy, Zander and his wish of becoming a zookeeper. It is now coming true.
“Thank you for taking time out of your life to try to make my son happy,” said Wiemuth.
Zander has a condition where tumors on his brain cause seizures. It is life threatening.
“If I could take this away from him I would. It has been an emotional rollercoaster,” Wiemuth said.
But at the recent Make a Wish Gala, all those troubles disappeared for awhile, with the start of Zander's wish to become a zookeeper.
When asked what animals he loved the most, Zander replied, “I love bats, crocs, and snakes.”
And with that, out came a Dallas Zoo representative, with a penguin to grant the start of his wish.
Then he was armed with his special zookeeper jeep, Zander was on the lookout for Chompy the missing alligator, with everyone's help.
“Can all of you, I want you to help me find the alligator and put him back in his habitat,” he exclaimed to the audience.
With each day come new clues, leading up to his big day at the zoo on Saturday.
“He's like mama, mama are there more tracks?” Samantha said. “What's today do I get a prize, what's my next clue? It's over and over he is having an amazing time with this.”
And with that comes his gratitude.
“Big thank you, I mean thank you,” he told news 8, to share with all the helpers out there.
