The fact is... second chances become a reality when a Texans Can Academy becomes involved in the lives of at-risk youth. We have proudly served our communities for over 25 years, providing a model that offers an academically rich curriculum where the focus is always on the individual student.
The fact is... a total of 4,500 students attend one of the 10 campuses across the state of Texas (Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio).
The fact is... each campus recognizes and utilizes the facts and statistics about high school drop-outs to create an educational environment that encourages attendance, learning and genuine interest from students (Relationship Based Model).
The fact is... students enjoy small class sizes with an 18 to 1 student to teacher ratio and receive intense counseling with a 90 to 1 student to counselor ratio (compared to an average ratio of 450 to 1 in traditional high schools).
The fact is... Each Texans Can Academy is a free public school of choice. Students enroll in our schools because they want to be here. They want to finish their high school education and provide better opportunities for themselves. Students earn a valid Texas high school diploma.
The fact is... Texans Can Academies believes in student centered decision making, a rigorous curriculum based on reading and thinking skills, and fulfilling every aspect of our mission with a sense of urgency.
The fact is... Texans Can must raise $5 million dollars annually through donations to make up the shortfall of revenue obtained by the state of Texas.
