Teen Violence is not a new phenomenon and not something that is limited to this generation of kids. Still, Teen Violence remains a major problem in our country. The best prevention - is, of course, the parents - (It always falls on us - doesn't it.)
Lory Allison's book, Sydney's Vampire Diaries "weaves the warning signs of teen dating violence into a believable and infectious story familiar to many girls today even if they are not yet aware of the real vampires among them." Dixie Allen--Program Coordinator, Project [REV] Resources for Ending Violence, Texas Woman's University.
Lory says that the best weapon for parents is information. I have listed a few websites that provide some great insights. I have also included a link to where you can purchase one of Lory Allison's books.

When I hear or I have read a story regarding a hero. It motivates me to be more brave than I was today. It was very brave of to come forward and comment. Being the daughter of Joe Stack has to seem odious to some, but she seemed to be very proud of her father but not necessarily his actions in the Austin plane crash into the IRS building. I wouldn't exactly have called him a hero and I won't be getting payday loans to pay for the floral arrangement, and killing another person because you're dissatisfied with the US tax system (some of the lowest in the industrialized world, by the way – a lot of people fail to mention that) is not heroic.
