FORT WORTH — You may remember the story of the youth pastor, along with a mother and daughter, who were helping a stranded motorist back in June near Burleson when they were hit by a speeding pickup truck.

Pastor Brian Jennings, Hollie and Shelby Boyles, and Breanna Mitchell all died in the wreck; nine others were hurt.

Police said the teenage driver was drunk when he crashed into them on the side of the road.

Pastor Jennings was fondly known as "BJ," and on Saturday, some of the people who loved him most joined the Walk like MADD event in Fort Worth, organized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

They formed Team BJ (as in "Be Jesus"). So far, they've raised more money than any other team at the walk. They had 150 team members out of the 400 walkers in the march.

"We just wanted to represent Brian in a way he would have wanted, and that's showing love to anyone — regardless of choices that have been made," said Team BJ member Tiffany McConnell.

Walk like MADD is one of the Fort Worth chapter's biggest fundraisers of the year, but organizers said the event is just as much about raising awareness of the danger of drunk driving as it is about raising money.
