LEWISVILLE — Ankle deep in dirt, Boy Scout Ben Jones is helping to spruce up a historic Lewisville burial ground.

The senior at Flower Mound High School spent his Saturday beautifying the Martin Oaks Cemetery. The 17-year-old organized the project, and he got 50 volunteers to help him.

They cleaned grave markers and worked on landscaping.

Ben said the cemetery has been here since the Civil Car, and he just wants to honor the past.

"My main overview for the project is just helping beautify the Lewisville community; just give it something to be proud of," he said.

Ben is working to become an Eagle Scout, and this is not his first act in helping.

He recently saved his own father's life by administering CPR.
