DALLAS — It rained on Sunday, but that didn't stop the 29th annual Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade in Oak Lawn.
Thousands of people cheered on the passing floats, musical groups and street performers along the route on Cedar Springs Road.
Several Dallas city leaders joined in the festivities, capping off a weekend of events celebrating diversity and unity in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
A Pride Festival followed the procession, and continued until 8 o'clock Sunday evening at Lee Park.
Proceeds from the event benefit Youth First Texas and groups that help the fight against HIV.
