FORT WORTH -- A truck carrying corn crashed on Loop 820 in Fort Worth early Monday morning, shutting down the interstate and causing a big mess.

The truck was heading north on Loop 820 near Clifford Street just before 3 a.m. when the driver crossed into the southbound lanes for an unknown reason, hitting another vehicle and overturning.

There was no word on injuries.

Officials say corn spilled onto both sides of the interstate, and TxDOT was brought in to help clean up.

Southbound lanes were closed and northbound was down to one lane before the roadway reopened several hours later.
