April 2nd, 2009, Karen Schrah lost her son Zachary, after he fell into cardiac arrest in the middle of a Plano high school football practice.
Ever since, she has dedicated her life to preventing similar tragedies.
She's done exactly that, and then some, through her foundation "Living for Zachary", which donates AED's to schools, churches, and other places where youth activities take place. She also encourages kids to get screenings to find out if they might be at risk for sudden cardiac arrest or any other potential heart defect.
