North Texans elected new mayors and city council members in Saturdays election.

WFAA senior reporter Jason Whitely shares these highlights from the hot races.

At least 3 races are heading to a runoff in the Dallas City Council and one familiar face will return to that chamber.  Dwaine Caraway will return to his old Dallas City Council District 4 seat after unseating incumbent Carolyn King Arnold.

Caraway was term-limited off 2 years ago but returned to his old seat beating his successor with 53% to Arnold’s 47%. One of the big issues in the race was whether to build a deck park over I-35 near the Dallas Zoo.
