ARLINGTON, Texas -- An investigation is underway after police say officers shot and killed a man armed with a knife in South Arlington Thursday.

According to Arlington police, officers received a 911 hangup call at about 3:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of Reverchon Drive. No one answered when police tried calling back, so officers responded to the scene shortly after 5 p.m.

Three men, who remain unidentified, were inside the home at the time.

Within moments of stepping inside, a man, armed with a knife, came around the corner and tried stabbing one of the officers, police said. The man continued charging at them as they retreated. That's when two officers fired shots, hitting the man. He was sent to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The two other men are being detained at this time.

Police said the officers wore body cameras that captured the entire incident.

The officers are ok. They have been placed on administrative leave at this time.
