According to Northside Independent School District, Monroe May Elementary was placed on modified lockdown. Modified lockdown limits any entrance or exit from the school by anyone, however, normal school operations continue for the students and staff.
Additionally, Leon Springs Elementary and Bonnie Ellison Elementary took special precautions inside. The school day proceeded as normal but they did not have recess or outdoor activities during the time of the incident.
NISD wants to let parents know this is a precaution and kids are ok. If anything changes, they will let parents know.
