A person died early Saturday in a fire at a restaurant in Euless, officials said.

Firefighters responded to the blaze about 3:30 a.m. at Napoli's Italian Cafe in the 3000 block of West Euless Boulevard.

A 911 caller had reported seeing heavy smoke coming from the building, according to a news release from the Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived and began searching the building, where they found the victim dead inside. A Euless firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries from a part of the restaurant collapsing, the news release said.

He was treated at a hospital and released.

No other injuries were reported. Officials did not yet know the cause of the fire.
