CLEVELAND -- “We are all hurting tonight.”

Those are the words tweeted by LeBron James around 1 a.m. Friday in response to the Dallas shootings in which five police officers and numerous others were wounded.

“More violence is not the answer,” his tweet continues before ending with #StoptheViolence.

Within four hours, the post was re-tweeted more than 23,000 times.

Late Thursday, gunshots rang out as police were attacked by snipers at a protest of officer-involved shootings across the country.

WFAA-TV in Dallas reported early Friday that one suspect was in custody while another was killed after a standoff with police.
