HUNT COUNTY, Texas -- The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the death of a driver who veered in front of a fire truck in Hunt County.

DPS says a Cash Fire Department truck was going north on State Highway 34 while a passenger vehicle was heading south. The passenger car veered into the northbound lanes for an "as of yet determined reason" and crashed into the fire truck.

The car overturned and caught fire. The lone person inside was pronounced dead at the scene and hasn't been identified.

Two people inside the fire truck were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A third wasn't injured.
