A 3-year-old girl drowned in Lake Lewisville at Little Elm Park on Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The girl had gone missing from a family gathering about 3:30 p.m., according to a Little Elm city news release.
Emergency crews found her several minutes later in a shallow area of the lake, where she was unconscious and not breathing.
First responders performed CPR, and then took her to Medical City of Denton hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the news release said.
Her name has not been released. Officials were still investigating the incident Saturday evening.
