Days after 'brutal' attack inside man's RV, police search for Arlington suspects

Jerry Bledsoe remains hospitalized and partially paralyzed after he was brutally attacked and robbed in his RV.

Jerry Bledsoe, 59, has been in the hospital all week, hooked up to machines in the ICU after unimaginable trauma.

"He's got blood on his brain," said his wife, LouElla. "He's got a broken right elbow. He's paralyzed on the left side."

LouElla can't make sense of any of it. "I don’t know why anybody would do this to anybody," she told WFAA.

She doesn't know why, but surveillance video shows the how. Arlington Police say on Sunday night, three men broke into Jerry's RV, which was parked near Matlock and SW Green Oaks.

"Unfortunately the side door was unlocked and they were able to gain entry, and they beat this guy really bad in the head," said Lt. Chris Cook.

Cook says they stole a loaded pistol from under Jerry's pillow and then beat him. His wife said they left him in a pool of blood in between the two front seats.

"What makes this case standout is really just the brutal nature of the attack," Cook said.

Cook knows the video isn't the best-- it's far away and it's dark. But it's their best lead in finding the three suspects.

"Someone will maybe see the way they walk or mannerisms, maybe jog their memory," he said.

"I don’t wish this on anybody," LouElla said.

Jerry Bledsoe is improving, but remains paralyzed on his left side. LouElla says his tubes have been taken out and he is communicating through writing. She wants justice for her husband, who never saw it coming.

"There’s not a lot to say, you know. Everyone gets their comeuppance. and they’ll get theirs," she said.
