Police are searching for a shooter who fired a bullet that shattered the window of an 18-wheeler and left the driver injured on westbound Interstate 30 in Rowlett.
Police say Rowlett police and firefighters were flagged down at about 9:34 a.m. Wednesday in the 18000 block of I-30.
The 57-year-old victim, who hasn't been identified, said he heard a loud pop as he changed lanes to avoid an accident on the interstate. The driver's window was blown out. He told police he felt as though he was punched in the neck and then saw he was bleeding.
Authorities say they suspect glass from the window led to the driver's neck injury. The victim was taken to Plano Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim was unable to give investigators a description of the suspect or the suspect's vehicle.
Police have asked anyone with information pertaining to the case call the Criminal Investigation Division at 972-412-6220.
