FORT WORTH -- Officers say they shot two dogs they believe were charging at them as they responded to a shots fired call at a Fort Worth home.
FWPD says officers were responded to the home at 5124 Fitzhugh Avenue early Wednesday morning where they found stolen property.
The officers say a dog, believed to be a large rottweiler mix, charged at them. One officer shot and killed the dog.
Another dog, believed to be a pit bull, was also shot, but it ran away from the scene. Officers are still looking for it. If anyone sees the dog, they are urged to call police Animal Control at (817) 392-1234.
FWPD is now waiting for a warrant to go into the house. Several arrests were made at the scene.
