Dallas police identify suspect wanted in fatal shooting of 17-year-old; witnesses asked to come forward

Police say Kendreal Jones died in a hospital after he was found on the ground with a gunshot wound. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information.

DALLAS — Dallas police and Crime Stoppers are asking for witnesses to come forward about a shooting that killed a teenage boy. 

Police said they responded to a call about the shooting around 1:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10. They were dispatched to the 400 block of North Jim Miller Road where they found the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound.

The shooting victim was identified by police as 17-year-old Kendreal Jones. They said first responders took him to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

On Monday, Jan. 24, police said they identified the suspect as 18-year-old Javar Rokeem Washington. 

Washington is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information concerning his location is asked to call 911 immediately, police said.
