JOHNSON COUNTY -- A man in Godley is recovering from a gunshot wound after pointing a weapon at officers and forcing a SWAT standoff.
A shots fired call came into the Godley Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff's Office Thursday evening at a home in the 400 block of East Godley Avenue, Sheriff Adam King said.
Deputies and officers arrived and found Michael Ward Seddon, 26, pointing a weapon at them. Law enforcement officers fired their weapons several times before Seddon ran into the home.
Negotiators were called to the scene and tried to get Seddon to come out of the home using a loud speaker.
"After movement inside the residence and communication with Seddon ceased, a remote control tracked vehicle equipped with a camera was sent inside the house," King said.
The device found Seddon lying on the ground in the fetal position. SWAT team members used this opportunity to make entry.
He was found with gunshot wounds, and was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital. He'll remain under guard and will be booked into jail once he recovers.
No one else was injured.
