DALLAS – A 34-year-old attorney who authorities said exposed himself to young girls at his law office and improperly solicited clients at the county courthouse was sentenced to eight years in prison on Thursday.

Rayan Ganesh was the subject of WFAA stories last year after he was charged with indecency with a child and barratry, which is the illegal, direct solicitation of clients.

This week, a jury convicted him of two counts of indecency. Thursday, State District Judge Amber Given-Davis sentenced him to eight years.

For months after he was charged with exposing himself to a minor in his law office, and as prosecutors amassed more clients who said Ganesh improperly solicited them, Ganesh still was able to keep practicing law.

State Bar officials in Austin said there was little they could do without a conviction.

Prosecutors said that in addition to clients, Ganesh would troll the hallways of the courthouse looking for young Hispanic girls to hire at his law office. He was charged with masturbating in front of a 13-year-old girl he had hired.
