Q: Thank you for taking the time to read my missive. I will be brief. As a Metroplex resident and TCU graduate, I am simply tired of the lack of coverage for what is currently the #6 team in the nation, our TCU Horned Frogs. The stories on News 8 Sports tonight were in regards to a new contract for a Cowboy lineman and Maverick Exhibition games. None are a bigger story than what TCU did over the weekend. That is real sports new, period. I am giving up on your broadcast for a period of time. I will reconsider tuning in again at some point in the future if the best sports story in the Metroplex receives the coverage it regularly deserves. As you may find yourself the recipient of several similar emails, please know that roughly 100 TCU fans have committed to simply not watch News 8 any longer, and to spread the word that News 8 does not seem to be a friend of the Frogs. Dave

A: Thanks for the email, and the opportunity to respond. We haven't heard from any such Frog fans, but we are glad you took the time to write. We sent your email to sports director Sean Hamilton who read it, and asked to respond. He said: "We actually asked TCU if we could have Coach Patterson on live with us the day we received your email (he later appeared with Dale Hansen on October 29 during the 10 p.m. news) and he wasn't able to appear due to scheduling conflicts.

We also did an interview with Coach Patterson on a recent edition of Dale Hansen's Sports Special. Our crew was even on campus on Sunday morning at 3:30 a.m. to tape an interview as the team arrived back from Utah. We consider TCU high on our radar of those deserving coverage and we communicate with the athletic staff at TCU weekly, so we hope you will continue watching. We will continue to do our best to cover TCU and their successful athletic program."
