GINA COTRONEO/ SOULS CALLING

?
?
?
?

Gina Cotroneo, a Dallas woman whose story of courage and self-empowerment has been featured on television programs such as "Oprah," " Montel," and "Crier Live" and in such publications as Glamour, will be appearing on the Sunday, August 30, episode of

ABC's hit television show "Shark Tank." Ms. Cotroneo appears seeking partnership investment for her business, "Souls Calling". "Shark Tank," from Sony Pictures Television, airs Sundays (8:00-9:00 p.m) on WFAA.

Ms. Cotroneo's well-publicized personal story began as a survivor of a violent attack in 1997, when she was raped by a well-known local radio deejay and serial rapist now serving a life sentence. Her amazing courage and presence of mind to save evidence, and her compelling and dramatic courtroom testimony, was not only responsible for his conviction, it was the genesis for her philosophy that "all experiences are gifts, to realize this is to evolve, and to live this is to have true power." Oprah Winfrey said of Ms. Cotroneo, "She tapped into the kind of power that can never be taken away."

?

Soul's Calling, a "fashion with-a-purpose" accessory and gift line, was conceived by Ms. Cotroneo in 2003. The company creates and markets fashion items that promote positive ideas and energy. "We are all connected with one another, and our individual actions and words have a great effect on the whole," said Cotroneo. "Being attacked affected not only me, but my family and friends, and their families and friends. The effect has rippled outward to an untold number of people. I came to the conclusion that if one person could affect so many with a negative act, then one person could also have a positive effect. Soul's Calling creations convey those positive messages in a lighthearted way that everyone can appreciate." Products shown on Shark Tank (Episode #104) include her Connection Bracelet, Sole Seeker's sandals, Inspirella umbrella, and acrylic Balance Bangles.

?

A viewing party for Ms. Cotroneo's episode will be held from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. CDT at Kenny's Wood Fired Grill, ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />5000 Beltline Road in North Dallas (the southwest corner of the North Dallas Tollway and Beltline Road). BLAINE'S COLOR/ END OF SUMMER HAIR CARE

?

?

?

Tips for Hair Repair after the summer:
Aspirin for green hair: Crush 2 aspirin, while holding in your hand add shampoo and wash vigorously for 3 minutes; the salicylic acid in the aspirin will counteract the alkalinity of the chlorine and remove the green almost immediately.
?
Very important to use baking soda to remove build up. Take a palm full of baking soda add shampoo to it and vigorously shampoo to remove build up?about once every 14 shampoos (if you shampoo every other day, that's once a month).
?
Hair needs moisture and protein reconditioners?hair needs moisture, but more importantly protein?
?
Semi permanent hair color to add shine and depth to hair.
?
End of summer haircut?cutting off the crispy ends is essential to establish hair growth and eliminate frizz.
?
Color infused conditioners on a daily basis for about a week.
?
Shampoo every other day try to use a dry shampoo in between.
?
Use ionic/ceramic styling tools (blow dryers, curling and flat irons) when necessary.
?
After hair cut or color ask for a gloss treatment, this will add to the shine loss from the sun and summer elements.
