FREDERICKSBURG, Texas - Two people have died after their ultralight plane crashed in the Texas Hill Country.
Gillespie County authorities say the lightweight plane went down Monday afternoon near Fredericksburg. The two-seat aircraft crashed near a ranch, and it wasn't immediately clear what caused the plane to go down.
Gillespie County Chief Deputy Mel Gideon says he suspects the plane took off from private property since the local airport had no record of the flight.
The crash was first reported by San Antonio television station KENS.
Fredericksburg is about 80 miles west of Austin.
