A Plano Senior High School student was fatally stabbed in an altercation outside a comic book store early Sunday, police said.

The victim's family said 17-year-old Max L. Brustein and some friends had gone to toilet paper an ex-girlfriend's house, but the high school prank escalated when the girl's boyfriend started chasing the teens.

Police said that someone called 911 about 3:45 a.m. after the suspect stabbed Brustein outside the Lone Star Comics store in the 3100 block of Independence Parkway in Plano.

Police say the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Joshua Torres of Richardson, drove Brustein to Medical Center of Plano for treatment, where Brustein died about two hours later.

Torres has been charged with murder.
