FARMERSVILLE, Texas - A two-year-old girl was found safe and her father taken into custody just hours after an Amber Alert was issued for the toddler Thursday afternoon.

Presley Karley Ellison's mother called police after she said her ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Marcilne "Marc" Joseph Ellison, called her and told her he was taking the child three states away.

Ellison picked up Presley for a visit at about 5 p.m. Wednesday from her mother's home. The next morning, he called Presley's mother and said she would never see her child again, police said.

According to police, officers stopped a car with two of Ellison's relatives and the child inside at about 7:30 p.m. Police said the relatives were cooperative.

Not long after, the father was found at a Hunt County house. Police said they entered the home with a K9 and met with an uncooperative Ellison, who suffered minor injuries as police apprehended him.

Authorities said Ellison could face federal gun charges due to weapons found inside the home.
