Q: I just listened to the 10 p.m. news and the discussion about drunk drivers on Texas Tollways. I just sent this note to the Toll way authorities. You might have your crew go out to the base and take a look at their system. It's all mechanical and buried in the roadway. When tripped, just reset it.

A solution for Tollway accident prevention: why not use the system that started in Europe and is now found on most military and high-risk facilities? I just visited Carswell AFB in Fort Worth. Embedded in the roadway are barriers that pop up and blow out the tires when someone goes the wrong way. Install thesein lanes that would prevent drunk drivers from entering the wrong direction. They will not get very far. Doug
