Volunteering is what they do at the Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation.

Founder, Thasunda Duckett Brown, is making her parents proud with her charity that recognizes charities at this year’s “Extraordinary Is Impact Award” Gala.

Kevin Frazier from Entertainment Tonight emceed the event. Ten students will receive $1,000 scholarships and 5 DFW charities will receive more than $20,000 in grants.

Otis and Rosie Brown Foundation recognizes extraordinary people. Craft Hope received a grant. Its executive director, Jade Laswell, started as a mommy blogger and is now battling breast cancer during her quest to collect mass quantities of quilts and other hand-made items for victims of disasters like Hurricane Harvey.

Like Laswell, Otis Brown is fighting cancer and is helping keep hope alive for needy children in Dallas.
