Authorities say the driver of a van carrying two passengers was headed southbound on Highway 78 and somehow lost control of the vehicle, which swerved into northbound traffic. The van struck a car, killing all three people inside.
The three occupants of the van were transported to Medical Center of Plano with serious injuries.
According to Wylie Texas Fire Rescue, the road re-opened in both directions around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
A bank account had been set up for the family to help defer funeral expenses for Hacking.
